Music at the Museum is the Brazilian version of what takes place in the most important museums throughout the world: Metropolitan, MoMA, Guggenheim (New York), Louvre, Picasso, Montmartre (Paris), Gulbenkian (Lisbon). Prado (Madrid) etc. These museums, side by side with their main activities in the Plastic Arts, ascribe ample time and space to music. Music, as a link between plastic arts and the museum ambiance itself, brings about a substantial cultural gain to the public.

Music at the Museum consists of a series of free concerts that endeavour to privilige good music, regardless of procedence, school, kind or period – from medieval music to European classics, from romantic to impressionist composers, from modern to Brazilian contemporary musicians, from classical to popular music, from Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and Debussy to Villa-Lobos, Chiquinha Gonzaga, Pixinguinha, Astor Piazzolla and Gershwin – all these have already been played on the stages of Music at the Museum, interpreted by the best Brazilian soloists and / or groups and by some international ones.

Project Format:
The project comprises five annual seasons :

. Summer Concerts (January / February).
. Autumn Concerts (April / June).
. Winter Concerts (July / September).
. Spring Concerts (September / November).
. Great Christmas Concerts (December).
